During the WWII, the Dutch overcame the scarcity of food by eating the bulbs of Tulips which is healthy and nutritious food. In Afghanistan, tulip is eaten for gaining strength. In Britain the Tuna, stuffed tulips recipe, is a classic dish of special occasion.(excerpt from Med Net ).

Health Benefits of Tulips:

Made into a Tincture tulips have been known to help with coughs and colds, sinus pressure and sinus headaches.

When used as a  poultice it will heal with dry skin. Provides immediate relief from bee stings, burns and rashes.

Caution is Advised:

I would recommend not eating more than 4 bulbs a day. It could cause dermatitis.
